Challenge

JPL has a 20-year in-depth relationship with Giant Food Stores, a primary brand of the food retailer Ahold USA. In 2010 and 2011, they introduced a management structure uniting its separately branded stores. The JPL meetings and events team served as Ahold USA's partner in communicating the new structure to employees, managers and vendors. JPL was challenged to create messaging, content and end-to-end production for seven meetings in three months from Boston to Baltimore. All under an intensely compressed schedule allowing no margin for error.

Solution

JPL developed messaging to unite all Ahold USA brands. It highlighted the market clout of Ahold USA while celebrating the local traditions of regional entities. The events shared many assets, creating economic efficiencies and thematic unity, but each had its own flavor. The JPL crew logged more than 5,000 miles, created more than 1,000 PowerPoint slides, produced 78 videos and ingested countless amounts of caffeine. The end result was events that delivered inspiring messaging to Ahold USA audiences and above-and-beyond value to Ahold USA.
